The original Los Angeles International Design Center, 8899 Beverly Boulevard was completed in 1964 by modernist architect Richard Dorman.

Mid-Century Pedigree

Completed in 1964 by modernist architect Richard Dorman, the original Los Angeles International Design Center stood as a classic example of mid-century modern architecture.

Olson Kundig’s design evolves the iconic appeal of this historic building, while transforming interiors into upscale sanctuaries of quality and character. Italian travertine flooring, custom-designed chef’s kitchens, floor to ceiling windows with 11 ½-foot ceilings, and bronze wall panels with patina finishes create a living environment that is as meticulous as it is visually striking.

The building immediately established the area as the epicenter for showcasing architecture and interior design in LA.

INTERIORS

Endless Light & Air

As the tallest residential building in West Hollywood, 8899 Beverly offers unmatched views – and masterful design that emphasizes them. Each Residence features floor-to-ceiling windows with soaring ceiling heights of 11 ½ feet – and 14 feet in the Penthouses. Each home also offers a Swiss-made, museum quality Vitrocsa glazing system that utilizes structural glass (rather than traditional frames) to allow for the most unobstructed vistas possible, gracefully dissolving the boundary between indoors and out.

Handcrafted Detail

The craftsmanship of 8899 Beverly infuses the residential experience with unexpected artistry, beginning with “the handshake of the building”: custom solid bronze, leather-wrapped and stitched door handles designed by Tom Kundig. The materiality chosen for the Residences reflects quality and character in every facet, from the fumed and wire-brushed French white oak flooring and chrome Dornbracht fixtures to the striking wood ceilings.
